Thankfulness

Please stop and pause this Thanksgiving Holiday, taking time to really be thankful for the blessings in your life. The next time you start to gripe about life and all that’s going wrong, remember there is always something to be thankful for:

  • The mess to clean up after a party because it means that you’ve been surrounded by friends.
  • The taxes you pay because it means that you are employed
  • The clothes that fit too snug because it means you have enough to eat
  • The shadow that watches you work because it means you’re in the sunshine
  • The spot you find at the far end of the parking lot because you are capable of walking
  • The complaining you hear about our government because it means that we have constitutional rights and free speech
  • The lady behind you in church who sings off key because it means you can hear
  • The piles of laundry and ironing because it means your loved ones are nearby
  • The lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning and gutters that need fixing because it means you have a home
  • The huge heating bill because it means you are warm
  • The weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day because it means that you have been productive
  • The alarm going off early in the morning hours because it means that you are alive

Quoted from The CEO of YOU: Leading Yourself To Success by Marsha Petrie Sue

“People complain about the bad things that happen to em that they don’t deserve but they seldom mention the good. About what they done to deserve them things”

Cormac McCarthy, No Country for Old Men
