Personal Responsibility, Accountability and You

A dear friend just sent me this link and as we begin the celebration of Christmas and the holidays, I hope you take time to watch this, share it, teach it and most of all, live it. http://www.responsibilityproject.com/films/player/the-home-run/

Success is really about personal responsibility.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, Marsha

Discombobulation: lightening up helps confusion

The definition of this little used word is “confused.” With so much going on in the world, and work it’s easy to become discombobulated.  The Milwaukee Airport has taken this tongue twister and made clearing security fun. Usually airport security and fun are not used in the same sentence.

After stripping off my shoes, belts and anything metal, tearing the electronics and computer from their well fitting cases, and holding my boarding pass in my teeth,  I was waved through the detector. Then, I drug all my disorganization that had been tossed in the lovely gray plastic bins over to a bench.  Looking up I saw this sign — “Recombobulation Area.”

Giving Back (live your mission statement)

Al and I worked this weekend cleaning a water tank for the conservation of Elk herds and other animals in the Big Lake, Arizona area.  I don’t think I have ever been this dirty -

but the day was rewarding, and fun. This will provide much needed water retention areas for the animals.  Thanks to the Arizona Society of Elk for feeding us and for gathering 80 people for these worthy projects. They know how to treat their volunteers! One thing I know, I could have become a toxic person and spewed difficult behavior but decided not to.

The Ugly Relative can create an Unhappy Holiday

Christmas, Holidays and New Years should be a joyous time of year.  Instead for many it is a time of troubled relationships, ugly relatives and conflict.  Dig deep inside of your self leadership and prove to yourself that you are in control and don’t have to be sucked into toxic behavior. Take personal responsibility for your Holiday Happiness – and de-stress it for everyone!

I, Marsha Petrie Sue, plan to stay above the issues that can come up especially with a step family.  I will not allow my petty behavioral issues get in the way of a happy Christmas.  There is an issue on the table right now that I will NOT address until December 26.

Resilience, Rejection and Your Success

Last evening I went to a wonderful Christmas Concert in at the Herberger Theater in Phoenix, Arizona.  A dear friend of mine, Jeffrey Hattrick,  was singing all of my favorite Holiday tunes. Much to my surprise, sitting directly behind me was  Sandra Day O’Connor, the first female Supreme Court Justice in the United States. She has been ranked as the most powerful women in the world.  Now here’s where you come in.  Did you know that when she graduated, with honors, from Stanford Law School, that because she was female the only job she was offered was to be a law clerk. She continued to persevere and didn’t waver from her goal of becoming an attorney … and much more!

More Moral Amnesia and Lack of Personal Accountability for Toxic People!

And you thought you had heard the last of this mess from New York!  The Wall Street Journal reported today that Federal prosecutors won’t bring criminal charges against former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer in connection with payments he made to a high-end prostitution ring.  In a statement, U.S. Attorney Michael J. Garcia in Manhattan said Spitzer has acknowledged to prosecutors that he was a client of and made payments to Emperors Club VIP.

Stay on the cutting edge

So does admitting that you messed up mean you don’t have any responsibility?  I don’t think so!  Everyone is accountable for their actions, except of course if you are a politician it seems.
