Is Knowledge Really Power?

OK – here we go! In my pre-op meeting today, the nurse reminded us that the more knowledge you have, the more quickly you will recover from knee replacement surgery. But I was thinking, doesn’t that have a broader application? I was given pre-op exercises that I’ve been doing for over 3 months. My doctor gave me knowledge, I took action so know the future will be better. That is life in a nutshell.

Here is the problem. There are many people who have knowledge, they just don’t take action. Continue to challenge yourself to take risk, and most importantly do something. Nothing will happen without your active participation. So what will you do?

The Cutting Edge

Watch yourself when trying to stay on the cutting edge. Typically we try to do too much and nothing gets done well. We wind up wasting time, rather than saving time and succeeding. Purge your “to do” list of any action that does not move you towards your goals . . . or change your goals!

Focus on your self-talk so you say, “I choose to or I choose not to, it’s not that I can’t.” You will only stay on the cutting edge if you believe you should be there.

Personal Responsibility Takes a Twist.

Just when you think you’ve heard it all, along comes a story like this.

A Los Angeles woman claims she was injured by her Victoria’s Secret thong, prompting her to sue the underwear manufacturer. The plaintiff in the case, Macrida Patterson, 52, attributed the May 2007 injury to a Victoria’s Secret “low-rise v-string,” according to a court document posted on The Smoking Gun.

Patterson’s lawyer told The Smoking Gun that a “design problem” caused a decorative metallic piece on the underwear to fly up and hit Patterson in the eye while she was putting the underwear on. Patterson’s product liability lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court last week.
