Manage Stress and Decontaminate Toxic People

Stress-The confusion created when the mind overrides the body’s desire to choke the living daylights out of some jerk who desperately deserves it.

Now that’s not nice or really useful because you have just given in to someone else’s behavior.  A poor outcome is just about guaranteed. It is all about taking personal responsibility for your outcomes.

So here are  some stress management tips for toxic people or those difficult situations life serves up:

1. Breathe – when you are stressed, you stop breathing.  The brain receives no oxygen so you can’t think and will immediately flee to the fight or flight — choke the living out of them, or flee.

Success Sucks! If you let Backstabbers kill your dreams

I continue to get emails about Toxic People and especially Backstabbers.

We have all encountered Backstabbers at work. (Remember the song about Backstabbers?) They are gossips, mean spirited and hurtful. In my research for the Toxic People book, one in every 30 people in high-performing business situations has been identified as a Backstabber. This rate is several times higher than that of the general population. Are you surprised? These people have little conscience or ability to change because their antics get them what they want. Their only goals seem to be power and personal gain. Pay attention to these people because they can tear up your road to success and kill your dreams.

Technology Hell: testing personal development through computer problems

I love Apple Computers! The last two weeks have been awful because my Apple computer, while I was on the road traveling, decided to become Toxic. It was a Microsoft Office problem – not a Apple hardware problem. I had NO Entourage email address book, had to use the mail service through my web site (pain in the butt) and other “difficult behavior” that only technology can create. My productivity was in the tubes!

The good news was I did have my iPhone – which is something everyone should have.
